In other words, we are ageing

Everything has changed all around us. The water, the birds, the dust. The Salton Sea in Southern California was a site of pleasure; now, it is a zone to be brought under containment. Is there anything left that isn’t filled with precarity? These images document a journey by two people who lacked for nothing but forgot how they coloured their earlier days. All that’s left is the salty wind on their skin during a pilgrimage to a film location from James Benning’s 13 Lakes (2004).
