Cyanotypes

The Cyanotypes series tell the story of the absent, of what was once present, touching the surface of the paper but is now lost. Washed away by water it returns in the depth of the blue. The image represents a small cast of the space inside two joining hands. It was shimmering under the projection of the movement of its making. The series of cyanotype search for the feeling of the hand that once touched the surface of the fragment. Captured partially on the fragment, the light now disappears in the depth of the cyanide blue. Discussing Yves Klein relation to blue, Rebecca Solnit reminded us that for him “blue [is] the color that represents the spirits, the sky, and the water, the immaterial and the remote, so that however tactile and close-up it is, it is always about distance and disembodiment.”(Solnit 2006, 159) The distance seems greater, the gaze fascinated by the shimmering veil got lost in the immensity of the blue, still searching for a lost feeling.
